THE MAP
Our map documents the life journeys of the The Great Gatsby's three principal characters: Nick Carraway, Daisy Buchanan, and Jay Gatsby, as well as that of its author, F. Scott Fitzgerald. All four share similar paths, most notably originating from the midwestern United States and eventually ending up in New York City, marked on our map by the red pushpin.

The World of Gatsby
"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
(Fitzgerald 180)

THE CHARACTERS
Each character is represented on the map by a color: white for Nick Carraway to represent his innocence, yellow for Daisy Buchanan to symbolise her corruption, blue for Jay Gatsby in reference to his dreams, and green for F. Scott Fitzgerald, whose life reflected the same dreams and corruption described in his novel. The travels and locations important to each character are marked by their corrospondingly colored yarn and pins.
